Upkeep Your Computer Performance
The very troublesome thing that you will experience when you use your computer is when it’s loaded slowly or crash. There are so many causes that could make your computer runs like snails; some of them are not enough RAM, too small hard drives capacity, too many programs that running on the same time, tons of virus attacks, and so on.
In order to make your PC run smoothly, you need to take care of it, very carefully. Here are several tips that you could do at home to make your PC stop ruining your life and run smoothly:
1. Clean up your mailbox
If you use web based mailbox, you could skip this step. But, if you use an email program in your PC to handle your emails, consider cleaning it up regularly. Do the backup first of all emails, and then delete all of it. This will free up some space in your computer and make your computer work faster.
2. Installed antivirus program
Often, the main cause that makes your computers so slow is viruses, tons of them. You need good antivirus software installed in your computer to combat these harmful things and prevent it to penetrate your computer in the future. There are so many free antiviruses out there. Download and installed one of them as soon as possible. To avoid any problems between antiviruses, install just ONE of them. If you’re not comfortable with the protection level of some particular antivirus, close it, uninstalled it, and installed the new one.
3. Installed anti spyware program
This program will monitoring any illegal access from the outside and reminds you to kick it out from your systems. It’s the second best thing of software that you should install in your PC.
4. Do disk clean up regularly
It doesn’t have to be daily clean up, doing the weekly or monthly clean up is enough. You could find it by clicking Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Clean Up. Make sure you checked all boxes.
5. Delete cached files and cookies
If you’re an internet maniac, you’ll have tons of cached or cookies in your browsers. This will make your browsers load slower. Delete all of these, and your PC will run faster!
6. Empty your recycle bin
Basically, recycle bin is the place where you dump all of the things that you don’t need. It won’t hurt to just empty it. If you don’t know how to empty it right click the recycle bin in your desktop, and choose “Empty Recycle Bin”. You’re done.
Start this by clicking Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter choose any drives that you wish to defrag, and your operating system will defrag it right away. It’s very useful to tidy up all of your files, and free up some spaces. If you never did this before, be patient, because it will take a while to finish.
Those are the tips that you could do in order to make your computer works smoothly and faster. Do update your antivirus and anti spyware regularly, defrag your computers and do some disks clean up often, and also don’t forget to clean up the mailbox, recycle bin, cached, and cookies.
